lakes leisure’s investment into a corporate community sports team based at our Kendal and Ulverston sites has allowed uscommunity kendal to offer a huge variety of activities and programmes targeted at important user groups such as youth, the elderly and those in rurally isolated areas.

The long term purpose of the Community Sports Team is to open up activities and sporting options to those who may not have had the opportunity to take part in regular activity for various reasons, and over the last few years the team has made some fantastic steps forward. We are proud of our local and national partners which include Young Cumbria, Young Farmers, Active Cumbria, Age UK, Cumbria Constabulary, Change4life, NHS Primary Care Trust, Oaklea Trust and many more.

Whilst we do take our objectives very seriously and strive to make more contacts and introduce more activities to South Lakeland the team ethos is all about getting active, meeting new people an having FUN!

The team at Kendal comprises of several qualified sports coaches who are fully trained in the latest coaching techniques and a huge variety of different sports! The team has delivered sport all over the area at schools, community centres and towns and villages like Sedbergh, Cartmel, Kirkby Lonsdale and lots more.
