Environmental Policy

lakes leisure is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and has been working in partnership with Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency (CREA) to achieve this goal. Lakes Leisure committed to this objective by taking part in the Cumbria Business Environmental Network scheme (CBEN).

lakes leisure Ulverston and lakes leisure Kendal have successfully worked through the award criteria and for the last few years have effectively maintained CBEN Gold Award which is the highest accolade achievable through CBEN. lakes leisure was also honoured with receiving the Overall Excellence Award in 2010, which is given to businesses that went over and above the criteria required – truly embracing new measures out of concern for the environment and showing real dedication to resource efficiency.

The CBEN award has evolved since lakes leisure first embarked on its journey to reduce its impact on the environment, and both sites have again been awarded Gold award for a new CBEN initiative ‘Green at Heart'.
