Lakes Leisure
a charitable sport and leisure trust
Becoming a complete swimmer is much more than just learning to swim up and down the pool which is why in addition to
weekly swimming lessons lakes leisure Ulverston runs a range of holiday courses designed to create the complete swimmer.
There are four levels to the scheme with credits being given for a pass at each level. Areas explored are Personal Survival, Technique & Speed, Diving & Competitive Starts, Turns, Long Distance Swimming and Young Lifeguard. Each level contains elements of the above skills. If a swimmer is experiencing difficulties on a particular element this does not stop him/her progressing to another level in the areas that he/she is competent. There is no failure involved in the complete swimmer scheme, elements not achieved can be practiced and the credit gained at a later date.
Children should be able show their achievements so lakes leisure Ulverston have designed a set of certificates that can be awarded to children who have passed the courses. If a child is not successful in passing the full award but has shown improvement we also have certificates of achievement available.
