Firstly, what a good choice! The Lake District is a fantastic place to visit – the beautiful surroundings will ensure a memorable day out whatever you choose to but... you certainly can’t beat enjoying the scenery on Lake Windermere by trying out something the Lake District is famous for…watersports! We’re open from the Easter holidays through to the end of Summer so whenever you plan to stay make sure you pay us a visit…

I’ve never even tried watersports before…

No problem – you have come to the right place! We have a variety of options for complete beginners, whatever your age or ability. During the summer season we run watersports taster sessions by the hour so come and give it a try!

Alternatively, you may want to consider booking a private tuition session for 1-2 hours, half day or full day at our watersports centre on Rayrigg Road near Bowness. If you are visiting in a group of 3 or more it is certainly worth looking into the option of group tuition, which can be great value. We have full changing facilities and storage at lakes leisure Windermere so simply give us a call to discuss the dates we have tuition available to book.

What about a whole day of activities for the children?

During the summer we have lots of SPLASH adventure days scheduled for children aged 7-14. The days are based at lakes leisure Windermere and run from 9.00-3.30pm and cost just £50.00 each with all equipment included. Take a look at the available dates and don’t forget to book places early to avoid disappointment! Health and safety is paramount to all our activities at the centre so you can rest assured your child will be well looked after and supervised during the day, leaving you free to explore the Lake District for a few hours!

I’ve done quite a bit of watersports in my time, what can I do here?

For visiting watersports enthusiasts lakes leisure Windermere will certainly provide some great options for you to further enhance your skills. We run a range of 2 day courses leading to RYA/BCU accreditation over the summer season. Please click here for details about our summer watersports weekends.
