lakes leisure Ulverston is proud to offer Cumbria’s largest indoor and outdoor tennis venue boasting unrivalled court facilities, junior tennis development, tennis tournaments, events and much more all year round. Our qualified LTA professional tennis coach Gary Weatherburn offers a range of coaching options to suit all ages and abilities as well as supervising social sessions like ladies, men and adults only.

We have four indoor acrylic courts, three outdoor polymeric courts and also two floodlit outdoor synthetic grass courts – all of which are available to hire on a casual basis. So, whatever the weather, rain rarely stops play here at the tennis centre!!

Try Tennis...

If you have never played tennis before, now is your chance to give it a go. There’s no need to wait until Wimbledon to consider picking up a racket – tennis is a fantastic sport all year round and can provide a great workout or fun family activity. We provide equipment hire here so all you need to do is turn up and get started. Take a look at our tennis prices page for details of our court rates.

Regular Tennis

If you are looking to develop your tennis skills and play on a more regular basis the tennis centre is ideal. Our LTA coach, Gary, offers junior and adult development coaching programmes which run each term and he can also be booked for private coaching lessons.

Mini Tennis

We have 8 indoor mini red tennis courts for short tennis. The courts can host mini red events at local, county and regional level. During the school holidays Gary runs regular mini tennis courses starting from tiny tots through to ages 11+ visit our school holiday page for details.
