About Us
Lakes Leisure (formerly South Lakeland Leisure) is an independent charitable trust which was set up three years ago to provide sport and leisure across South Cumbria. The move to become a charitable trust marked the end of our time as council run establishments and formed the beginning of an exciting new opportunity for us to build our own reputation and provide the local community with unrivalled sports and leisure facilities.
In August 2006, South Lakeland Leisure, comprising of Kendal Leisure Centre, Ulverston Leisure Centre and Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre united under the new corporate umbrella "Lakes Leisure". Lakes Leisure represents the links between our three sites and the variety of sporting facilities which they offer to South Cumbria as a whole as well as to the respective areas Kendal, Ulverston and Windermere.
Lakes Leisure as an organisation serves to recognise the importance of health and fitness, to encourage the local community and its visitors to take advantage of our facilities and most importantly enjoy their leisure time in a friendly, relaxed environment.
